In the hot seat this week is Kate, our multi-talented senior account manager. Kate blends her marketing and digital background with a keen eye for spotting and developing a media-worthy story, coupled with an ability to plate-spin campaigns while staying cool as a cucumber and building the best relationships with her clients.
Just before Kate heads off on maternity leave this week, she gives us an insight to her thoughts about working in brand design PR...
Kate, tell me something you enjoy about working in brand design PR?
I’ve always loved design but I’m no designer, working in brand PR has allowed me to be surrounded on a daily basis by inspiring design from healthcare to drinks, whilst still being able to use my skillset in PR & marketing.
What’s an exciting thing you‘ve noticed in brand design right now?
As a 90’s kid I love seeing all the 90s nostalgic aesthetics return to brand design – Monotype’s most recent trend report highlighted how we’ll see this reflected in type in 2024. Nineties nostalgia and type – a winning combo!
Share a piece of career advice that’s been helpful to you
“You don’t need to be the most confident person in the room, just enough that your personality shines through.”
If you hadn’t worked in brand design PR what would you do?
I’d have loved to do something in interior design, I fawn over designer Beata Heuman’s Instagram on a daily basis… sadly I’m hopeless at any sort of DIY so I’ll need to admire from afar!
