My Life in Design with Roger Sho Gehrmann from MassiveMusic - recorded live at Cannes
Vicky Stoakes
Communications Director
In this episode of My Life in Design, recorded live at Cannes International Festival of Creativity, Claire speaks with Roger Sho Gehrmann, VP of Partnerships at MassiveMusic. Roger explains sonic branding - using sound to communicate brand values - citing iconic examples like Netflix's "ta-dum" and TikTok's signature sound, which MassiveMusic created. He shares his journey from a childhood jingle obsession in Australia, through art school and advertising, to pioneering creative audio advertising at Pandora, before joining MassiveMusic. Roger advises young creatives to build broad skill sets, avoid early specialisation, and find bold, personal ways to stand out.
My Life in Design is a collaboration between Red Setter and the Design Business Association.
