My Life in Design with Tim Perry, TP Consulting & former Managing Partner of Webb deVlam

Vicky Stoakes

Communications Director

This week on My Life in Design, Claire spoke to designer, Tim Perry who joined Nokia when it was selling more than a million phones a day. In this episode, he tells Claire how that experience led him to Webb deVlam, where he helped turn around the agency, grow it from fewer than ten people in London to around 100, and sell it to a US group. He also shares the less glamorous reality of the deal: 57 documents to sign and thousands of pages of due diligence. Plus, hear why he thinks creative businesses can’t treat business development as someone else’s job - and his advice for standing out as a young designer.

My Life in Design is a collaboration between Red Setter and the Design Business Association.
