Red Setter is officially a Great Place to Work

Red Setter is officially a Great Place to Work (but what makes us great?)
We’re proud to be officially certified as a Great Place to Work (GPTW). But really, what does this mean?
GPTW is the global authority on workplace culture, surveying more than 10 million employees around the world over the past 30 years.
Building a great workplace culture has been a priority for Red Setter. It’s not always easy, but we’ve now created a culture where every team member has a voice and a clear role to play in the success of the company – for we know clearly that the right people are the secret of our success. It’s an ongoing process, and part of this was taking part in the GPTW survey for the first time.
The survey
The survey is an anonymous and extensive review about the workplace across five areas: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. Based on these results and a Culture Brief audit (looking at HR, management, trust and wellbeing), a ‘Trust Index Score’ is generated. To achieve accreditation, companies need to average above 65%. We’ve managed to power past that to an average score of 94%.
Creating a workplace where 94% of employees say it’s a ‘great place to work’ doesn’t happen overnight. It’s cultivated through awareness and intentional choices that ensure employees have the support, resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
Here are just a few ways we have created a workplace that people look forward to coming in to and being part of:
Collaboration
100% of our team said that the agency was a fully collaborative place to work. We know that everyone has our back. In our weekly company meeting we all share our highlights and all share our learnings which creates an environment of trust, enabling every single member of our team to continually stretch and grow.
Giving employees a voice
Through one-to-ones and team meetings we actively encourage all of our team to contribute ideas to the agency and to our clients. Our junior team members see the value they add from the word go and we ask all our team to contribute to our overall communications.
Having career ownership
Every employee has a clear job description, to help them work with their line managers to create a career path. We encourage our team to think about their future, think about how they can shape and develop their skills and their role. We empower our team to be the best they can be and support their development through regular training and skills building (we offer 48 hours a year in training alone).
Coffee and connections
Our office doesn’t just thrive on coffee, fruit, biscuits or kombucha. It thrives on the people. The connections between our team members are pure gold. We know this because they tell us they love being in the office and spending time with their colleagues. And it’s not all PR, media or design chat, often it’s simply chatting about life or Netflix. We’re human after all.
Renumeration
No great place can say ‘we’re really great’, unless the team feel they are appropriately rewarded for their work. Having a good salary is essential to attract and keep talent. We ensure ours is competitive and is supported by great perks and policies (that we review and continue to evolve – and are always excited about our annual trip away…this year to Porto!).
Never settling
One aspect of Red Setter life is that we never settle. We are on a mission to build the best PR agency, with the best clients, consistently delivering the best results with the best people. It means we have to constantly evolve and this does mean never settling. It’s an aspect of agency life, but it also helps us retain our edge and keep building on all the great stuff.
We’re incredibly proud of our team and company culture. We want to say a huge thank you to them for making Red Setter such a special place to work.
This survey is only the start of our journey. It's a recognition that acts as a motivation to do better every year and offer the best work experience for all our employees. And we will continue to set the bar high!
