Set the agenda – autumn 2024
As we bid farewell to BRAT summer and ease into ‘Gilmore Girls’ season—or perhaps more fittingly, ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ season—it’s time to grab your calendar and mark down a lineup of world-class design events this autumn.
We’re thrilled to be celebrating the 50th episode of My Life in Design at the London Design Festival, taking part in HOW Design Live, and hosting a special design event in Brighton, tailored for the vibrant local design community along the South Coast.
What does your autumn look like?
London Design Festival – 14-22 September
The London Design Festival is a jewel in the UK design industry’s crown. A week of design taking over the capital and showcasing design in its many forms across many different design districts.
Our founder Claire Blyth will be marking the 50th episode of the My Life in Design podcast, with a live recording at the festival with Domenic Lippa, Pentagram Partner and Design Director for the festival since 2007, working with his team on all aspects of the Festival’s graphic output. HOW Design Live – Denver, Colorado, 23-25 September
We’re very excited about this one! HOW Design Live is one of the biggest design events in the calendar and having visited HOW Design Live in Boston back in 2018 it’s been one of our dreams to be part of it - and this time we are! Claire will be appearing on a panel line up called 'Not Another Roundtable About How The Agency Model is Broken.' A hot topic for the industry! HOW Design Live is an event that brings together some of the most creative minds in the industry to discuss hot topics and show off cutting edge creativity. This one to never miss!
The Design Effect – London, 8 October
The Design Effect is the new event by the Design Business Association (DBA) to inspire and celebrate the design industry, with a day of talks, case studies and dinner discussions. The new event incorporates the Design Effectiveness Awards which are curated to illuminate the ways effective design can shape business, society and the world. Find out more and book now.
Brand New Under Consideration – Salt Lake City, 10-11 October
The iconic website brings its special take on design to life in its live conference in Salt Lake City. Speaker events, a ‘fan-zone’ with a one-of-a-kind physical gallery that gathers real-life examples of some of the best projects that have been featured on Brand New in the past three years. There are many ‘don’t miss’ speakers in the schedule – including Matt Ottignon from Ragged Edge and Cat How from How&How, both guests on the ‘My Life in Design’ podcast. There will also be a webcast with live steaming available and after party! (we love an after party).
MEETING ROOM Presents! – Brighton, UK, 17 October
As part of Brighton’s MEETING ROOM design community get together that takes place twice a year, ‘MEETING ROOM Presents!’ is coming!
MEETING ROOM Presents! is an opportunity for the wider design community, including students and young designers, to come together to hear from creative superstars, who will be sharing their thoughts on art, design, good practice and the role and impact of colour in their work.
The first LIVE event will be an evening of inspirational talks by Rejane dal Bello and Rob Lowe aka Supermundane (not the Brat Pack actor!). Click here to find out more – tickets and student discounts.
